Elif Gursoy has completed her PhD in obstetrics and gynecology nursing at Marmara University School of Nursing in Istanbul, Turkey; then postdoctoral study at University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing in Philadelphia, USA. Besides working as a clinical nurse in OB/GYN for seven years, she started her professional career in the Ministry of Health in Ankara. She worked for the General Directorate (GD) of Maternal and Infant Health and Family Planning for three years and later GD of Nursing for seven years. She carried out several national and international projects related to both nursing and Turkey Reproductive Health Program, Sexual Health and Family Planning and some other projects i.e. development of the Nursing Law proposal and organizations of the in-service education programs for the clinical nurses. She is an Assoc. Prof. and Head of Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Turkey and the founding president of the Leadership Association in Nursing in Turkey as well. Her research interests are women’s health and gender discrimination, health policy and leadership in nursing. She has written and reviewed many papers. She is founding president of the Leadership Association in Nursing in Turkey.

Sister Renée Mirkes, OSF, PhD is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, Manitowoc, WI. She serves as director of the Center for NaProEthics [the ethics division of the Pope Paul VI Institute, Omaha, NE] and was editor of its ethics publication, The NaProEthics Forum, from 1996 to 2002. Together with an undergraduate degree in music education and an undergraduate and master degree in vocal performance from Wisconsin Conservatory and University of Michigan School of Music, Sister Renee has a graduate degree in theology from the University of St. Thomas, Houston, TX and a doctorate degree in theological ethics from Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI (1995). In her current position, she deals with procreative and birth ethics through consultations, publications, and public speaking. To these commitments Sr. Renée brings experience in clinical ethics as well as broad experience in bioethics as a research fellow from 1987-1990 with the National Catholic Bioethics Center (formerly the Pope John Center: Houston, TX). She was appointed to the Nebraska Bioethics Advisory Commission by University of Nebraska President L. Dennis Smith in 2000. She is a founding member and serves on the board of Nebraska Coalition for Ethical Research. Sister Renee is currently serving on the national Rights of Conscience (ROC) Working Committee and its subcommittee on state ROC legislation. She has also been appointed chair of the Legislative Committee of the American Academy of FertilityCare Professionals and spearheads its website focus on protecting healthcare rights of conscience in reproductive medicine. Sister Renee serves on the board of directors for the Twin Cities FertilityCare Center. Recently, the Center for NaProEthics has been approved as a host organization for the Blackstone Legal Fellowship Program and Sister Renee as on-site director of the Phase II practicum. He is a past Professor of Psychiatric Nursing at New York University and currently a preceptor of graduate nursing students at Hunter College of the City of New York.

Amy Weaver received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Liberty State College. She graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing – Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist, with a concentration in chronic illness, from Youngstown State University and received a PhD in Nursing from Villanova University. Her dissertation examined the effect of a model demonstration during debriefing on students’ clinical judgment, self-confidence, and satisfaction during a simulated learning experience. She is a full time faculty member and coordinator of the Nursing Home Administration Program at Youngstown State University. Dr. Weaver will continue her research to contribute to best practices in simulation and debriefing. She plans to develop simulated teaching-learning strategies that will enable students to provide quality care to older adults.

Mouhanad Hammami, M.D. a graduate of Aleppo University, Syria, Dr. Hammami completed his postdoctoral research in Pediatrics at the Newborn Center of the University of Tennessee in Memphis, and then accepted a faculty appointment at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan and a research position at the Detroit Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics. In 2006 he was granted the American Medical Association (AMA) foundation for Excellence in Medicine and Leadership award for his public health advocacy and community work. He is listed in the Marquis 2006-2007 Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Strathmore’s 2006-2007 Who’s Who in Healthcare and Madison’s Who’s Who in the World 2008 - 2009. He was awarded the “Health Policy Champion Award” by the Michigan Department of Community Health in 2011.Dr. Hammami served as Executive Director of the National Arab American Medical Association (NAAMA) from 2006 to 2009 and then elected as national president for 2011. James C. Pace, PhD, MDiv, ANP, BC, FAANP, FAAN is the Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Program at New York University College of Nursing and Clinical Associate Professor of Nursing. Dr. Pace holds a BA in philosophy from The University of the South at Sewanee, Tennessee; a BSN from Florida State University; MSN and MDiv degrees from Vanderbilt University; and a PhD in Nursing Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Pace is a Fellow in both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nursing. Dr. Kathy Ruble is the Director of the Survivorship Program, Division of Pediatric Oncology at Johns Hopkins University. She has been an oncology nurse for 34 years and has worked exclusively with childhood cancer survivors for the last 20 years. Her research interests include health promotion for survivors with emphasis on sleep and exercise.

Pat Wills Bagnato has been a pediatric oncology nurse since 1985, and provided front line care to hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) patients and survivors for eighteen years as a nurse practitioner. Pat facilitated the dedication of a clinic team to the care of pediatric survivors of transplant within the HSCT clinic. She has presented and served in leadership positions in the local and national pediatric oncology nursing organization. Mrs. Wills Bagnato is Director of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in the Cancer and Hematology Centers at her institution. Mrs. Wills Bagnato facilitates an annual educational symposium for the APPs, provides a quarterly general pediatric oncology lecture to nursing students at one of the local schools in the medical center, and facilitated the first pediatric hematology oncology nursing conference at her institution in 2016. Mrs. Wills Bagnato will begin pursuit of her doctoral nurse practitioner degree in the fall 2017.

Dr. Bernstein is Professor of Pediatrics (Cardiology) the Cardiovascular Research Institute and the Broad Center of Regeneration Medicine Stem Cell Research at UCSF. Dr. Bernsteins research focuses on stem cell biology muscle development and tissue regeneration. He has received numerous awards recognizing his work including the Society for Pediatric Research Richard Rowe and Ross Research Awards, the Heart Failure Society of America Young Investigator Award the March of Dimes Basil O’Connor Award, and the American Heart Association Established Investigator Award. Dr. Kendra Russell serves as Associate Professor and Director of the Macon Graduate Center at Georgia College. Dr. Russell’s clinical background is in neonatal intensive care and pediatrics. Hideya Kodama graduated from Akita university of Medicine in 1982, and promoted to a professor of the department of maternity child nursing at Akita university graduate school of medicine and faculty of medicine in 2000. Since them, he have studied about a human circadian rhyme, including a sleep-wake cycle, a melatonin rhythm, regulation of autonomic nervous system and a body thermal rhythm, with nurses who entered his postdoctoral course. Now, he manages several research projects of the doctoral course regarding this issue, and his research subjects include early infants, pregnant women, puerperal and adolescent girls.

Robert Ślusarz research interests are clinical assessment of patients with neurological disorders, post-graduate nursing training in neurosciences, and neuroprotection, hemostasis and angiogenesis in nervous system disorders. Author and co-author of articles, books and other publications on neurological and neurosurgical nursing and leader of statutory research projects.

Dr van den Hoff obtained his PhD in 1994 from the University of Amsterdam:“Isolation and characterization of the rat carbamoylphosphate synthetase I gene”. After moving to the field of heart development with Prof Moorman, he established his own group focusing on heart muscle cell formation and epicardial development after the formation of the linear heart tube. As a visiting scientist he has developed a tight collaboration with the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston (US). Currently, he is vice-chair of the department of Anatomy, Embryology & Physiology and AMC Principle Investigator and has published in excess of 86 papers (H-index 29) in peer-reviewed journals.

Between the years 1995 and 2010, she worked as the head of Pediatrics Department of the Faculty of Medicine of Kocaeli University. She still works as the head of Neonatology Department of the School of Medicine of Kocaeli University .
